The FDX Controller: - Full circle display, with Dial Preset & Dial Speed control with ramp up & down in manual & preset modes.
Fully disassembled, cleaned & prepared chassis for new upgraded parts. Chassis re-zinc plated.
Front panel: - All new 3D printed panel & push buttons, New direction lens, All new decals
Back panel: - New 6 pin Cinch socket & S/S cover plate, Fused IEC 240v socket & earth bolt.
On the inside: - Replaced original belt driven display assembly with a gear drive version, New compass direction display & needle with adjustable brightness LED display, Replaced damaged original PCB‘s with a new set from a Yaesu G-2800DXA now mounted on a new chassis shelf, Changed all POTs to suit new PCB‘s, Replaced damaged transformer with one from a Kenpro SDX controller to suit the new PCB’s, Fully rewire with plug/sockets to suit new PCB‘s . Re-assembled, fully tested & aligned with the rotator.
The 1280 Rotator: - Has twin (solid) final drive gears onto the top housing, New motor/gear plate with new gear shafts & an extra gear in the drive train, New 24vDC motor.
Disassembled to the last nut, bolt & screw, then cleaned & check all parts for damage.
Installed all new aluminium billet HEC (lower Housing End Cap) to make lower mount holes stronger & repair damaged threads etc, Also installed all new 20 x 180mm Dia billet (MC1219AP) adaptor plate to top housing to suit the heavy duty #1219 mast clamps. All M8 threads now have RECOIL inserts installed. Replaced the control cable socket with a new IP67 7pin round socket.
Replaced the original 1.6mm steel motor/gear plate with an upgraded 10mm aluminium plate with new 12mm shafts, that have been pressed into the plate. The New shafts have 'C' clip groves to hold up the two heavy gears off the faster moving gears (this takes a lot of load off the motor & it revs more freely).
The motor is in a new position on the plate to suit the extra gear in the drive train, This extra gear slows down the rotation speed which also increases the rotation & brake torque.
Installed a New 5 turn 500-ohm POT with the new direct drive 15 tooth POT Drive gear, mounted on the S/S mounting plate.
The gears were aligned & shimmed then fully re-assembled into the refurbished housings with the new bearing & new grease throughout.
All housings & mast clamps have been Glass Bead Blasted follow by etch primer & then sprayed in Epoxy Enamel Pewter paint.
