Description
You are bidding on an RT-176, the radio part of transceiver PRC-10. This radio was supplied to allied soldiers and radio operators during the Korean and Vietnam wars. It provides frequency-modulated (FM) radio communication in the 38 to 55 MHz range. Nominal RF power output is 0.9 W. Range is between 8 and 20 km, depending on your choice of antenna, your siting and the terrain cover.
I replaced the damaged British Hawthorne green front panel with a good one in US Military Deep Olive Bronze. I used the damaged front panel to support the front of the radio in one of the photographs.
All original equipment manufactured components are present, except:

I acquired this radio for amateur radio communication purposes. However, I found radio amateurs use offsets between transmitted and received frequency in the 6-m FM band. As this radio is single channel, it is now surplus.

All original equipment manufactured components are present, except:
- LITE CAP
- Knobs for VOLUME and SQUELCH
- Inductors L6 and L7
- The original case; it is in a PRC-10A case whose clips Ihave adjusted to trap the front panel
- CY-744 battery box. The CY-744 is available separately; ask.
- All the easily accessible valves / tubes; I can supply these.
- The photo showing the RT-176 on top of a CY-744 is for show only. It appears sideways because of the limited picture formatting available.
- The photo showing the tuning gear, shows where L7 should go.
You can
- use it for its original purpose, ie, short range wireless communication, as in military re-enactments
- use it as part of a network centre, along with the C-434 / GRC
- use it for FM radio communication in the amateur radio 6-m band
- use it for spares for your PRC-10
- add it to your collection of Korean / Vietnam-era collectibles.

- Shipping charges depend on where you are and your preferred speed of delivery.
- If you want the CY-744 battery box, or any of the other operastional accessories, ask me about the price and shipping cost.
