ALL AS NEW ICOM IC7760 SIGNATURE EDITION WITH AS NEW IC PW2 AMPLIFIER. USED FOR MAYBE 24 HOURS TOPS, SUIT NEW BUYER WHO WANTS TO SAVE A FEW $$$.
Plastic has not been removed, used for a weekend of fun on 6m FT8, but its just not me, I'm staying with my IC7850 which is my 10 year old first love, its just my personal taste is so in love with my IC7850. And the real reason Im taking a hit on this move, DL8MRE has finally released software to remote my IC7850, just incredibly bad timing as I bought the 7610, then the IC7760 as my remote station as I love the IOS FOR SDR REMOTE SOFTWARE, and now one IC7850 Transceiver can do it all for me versus so much stuffing around with needing literally a double up of so much infrastructure.
So what did I think of the IC7760 with the ICPW2, its just an absolutely beautiful setup, works beautifully when integrated together. I actually think the PW2 was custom made to suit the IC7760 and IC7610 so so much, it integrates perfectly and so easily, where running the PW2 on my IC7850 is a task not for the faint hearted, definitely can be done but ALC setup is just so simple on the IC7760, a little more finicky on the IC7850.
Overall, the noise blanking I found is incredible on the IC7760, maybe better than my 10 year old IC7850, but both are obviously magnificent examples of great radios. The PW2, the only area I'd maybe criticise is to be careful with full carrier modes where on ssb, 1000w all day long, works a treat but on FT8, man, 500w we tested beautifully, but does 1000w easy full carrier into a dummy load, but i personally wouldn't repeat this usage.
The truth is we made 50 plus contacts on 50 watts on 6m on the IC7760 on FT8, my first time using this mode, and whilst the massive learning curve was interesting to say the least on FT8, we used the PW2 on phone usage and at 400w, its not even getting warm. The PW2 does 1000w so easily and on our spectrum analyser, what a beautiful signal. Icom now has DPD, do your research but its quite incredible in its resulting signal. I found the radio head was actually a surprise as I wasn't sold on the external head idea initially but after using it, its actually very accommodating with the layout, if we were to keep it, its the perfect size to put on top of the IC7850, but it will never be used now remote software is being transferred over to my IC7850.
Im selling this with obviously a reasonable loss on my side, but it was just bad timing and my loss is your gain.
My advice, do your research, this is a topline setup suited to someone looking for the ultimate setup, if it doesn't sell, we will repurpose it here somewhere down the track but I'm out of room in my personal shack so its all going back into original boxes today.
Over to you, it is a great way to buy the ultimate setup at a great discount, contact me by email brenton@posnav.com.au
