This Frg-8800 is now working on the hf bands in all modes and the Vhf bands the rotary encoder required half a drop of sewing machine oil and now runs very smoothly like new.
The rotary encoder getting stiff is a common problem with them according to the repair sources online, and a light weight oil is the recommended product to use.
This receiver is now the cheapest yaesu frg-8800 for sale anywhere online in the world at $300.00 especially as it has the internal vhf unit which currently sells online for $280.00 aud.
This frg-8800 is being sold as fair and working.
Anyway i will try it here and see how it goes online these receivers sell for a thousand dollars often and are getting rare now days but the vhf unit alone second hand sells for more than i am asking for the whole receiver here.
