Functionality and features
- Purpose: Improves signal clarity by providing a much sharper and more selective filter than the radio's built-in VRF (Variable RF Preselector).
- Performance: Uses high-Q (Quality factor) filters with large ferrite cores, driven by a precision stepper motor, to create a very steep resonance peak near the operating frequency.
- Adjustment: The filter's center frequency is adjustable, allowing the operator to tune it away from a specific interfering station for even greater protection.
- Integration: Can be installed internally on specific models (like the FTDX-9000) or connected externally to others (like the FTDX-5000, FT-2000, and FT-950).
