Description
You are bidding on one Lavoie Laboratories LA-6 Frequency Meter, also known to the military as an AN / URM-81; there are two available. The frequency range is 100 to 500 MHz. The items are new, in their original aluminium, waterproof shipping containers. Documentation is included in one container.
These items have never been used. All the spares, including 14 valves / tubes are in lock-down boxes in the shipping container lids.
I opened the containers to take the photographs. I have not tested these items; I offer them AS IS.

You can use them for testing and fault-finding of VHF and UHF radio equipment, such as:
- For working on receivers in the upper part of the VHF FM broadcast band, ie, 100 to 108 MHz
- If you are a radio amateur, these are useful for the 2-m, 3-m and 70-cm bands (144, 220 and 430 MHz)
- For checking TV sets working up to 500 MHz
- For commercial and military VHF and UHF communication equipment..
Why am I selling them?
I acquired these items when I got my radio amateur operator’s licence, with the intention of building, testing and repairing radio equipment - use one, have the other for when the first one fails. Subsequently, I acquired Hewlett-Packard and Tektronix test equipment and have no use for these Lavoie units. So, they are availablePackaging

As each packaged item weighs more than 20 kg, Australia Post will not carry them. There are several possibilities – in order of my preference:- 1. You can collect your winnings from me.
- 2. You can arrange a courier or a packaging and shipping firm to collect your winnings from me for forwarding to you.
- 3. I can seek a courier or packaging and shipping firm to collect your winnings from me for forwarding to you.
- 4. I can carry your winnings to a packaging and shipping firm for forwarding to you. As most ‘pack and ship’ firms are more than 25 km from me, I will need to recover the cost of my travelling to and from at AU$2.50 per km.
