Description
Hewlett Packard HP70820A microwave transition analyzer plug-in,
with HP70004A color display mainframe.
This is a very unique and versatile instrument,
covers DC - 40 GHz, 2 channel.
Extensive documentation available online via the Keysight website.
Essentially a sampler based, time domain instrument for viewing very fast rise-time RF signals, among many other uses.
It frequency translates a 10MHz portion of the RF spectrum,
anywhere within the DC - 40 GHz range, down to an IF in the DC - 10 MHz range, and displays the signal(s) as time domain, i.e. oscilloscope style waveform, or, via built in FFT transform, to frequency domain.
Great for measuring low level signals that other instruments can't easily measure, e.g. signal power / voltage, frequency, modulation envelope,
rise / fall time of oscillators / pulse generators,
simple scalar / vector network analysis (external direction couplers required), etc.
Shown here measuring a -50 dBm signal at 1.999 GHz,
generator set at -30 dBm, through a 20 dB pad to the analyzer.
The color display unit can also accomodate other 70k series plug-in instruments, e.g. spectrum analyzer modules, RF synthesizer modules etc.
Separate documentation is available for the HP70004A display unit.
Unit is heavy, so will be fairly expensive postage wise unfortunately,
and may be necessary to ship the two units separately, to keep the weight reasonable for each.
In very good condition overall,
the plastic 'dress bar' under the plug-in module is broken at one end,
but still 'closes' and stays in place, and does not effect unit's operation.
Postage will be calculated based on destination address.
The signal generator shown is NOT included in the sale,
just for display / reference purposes.
Thanks for looking!
