Buy My Alinco – It Deserves Better Than Me

I picked up this Alinco DJ-VX50 VHF/UHF handheld from Andrews Comm in July 2024, fully intending to take it on a glorious road trip filled with scenic views, CQ calls, and awkward repeater timeouts. Alas, the trip never happened. The radio has spent its days in quiet existential contemplation on a shelf, still wondering what the open road smells like.

This unit is in as-new condition—seriously, it has had less airtime than a lecture on flat Earth theory at a physics conference. It comes with the original box, manual, drop in charger. factory bits and pieces, and yes, the speaker mic I impulse-bought because it looked cool. You get that too, free of charge, because I am trying to downsize, not start a museum.

I will also include the receipt, because the radio is probably still under warranty unless you’re aiming for interplanetary DX, in which case warranty coverage might be a bit of a grey area in the solar system.

$135 – a small price to pay for something that is basically brand new and far more fun than talking to yourself without a radio.
