Description
This is a Stromberg Carlson valve radio from Wold War 2
This model is Australian built and I have seen a photo
of it used in Labuan in New Guinea.
The amenities radios were used in the canteen
when the soldiers were having a break from the fighting
and relaxing around the meal table. Often they would play
records or listen to the overseas news.

The radio has been worked on
and many capacitors have been replaced underneath.
It has 6 valves, 5Y3 rectifier, 6V6 power amplifier,
a 6B6 audio pre-amplifier, a 6U7 IF amplifier, a 6K8 mixer,
and a 6U7 RF amplifier. It runs from 240 volts AC.
The insides are in very good condition.

The radio is in good condition and is working,
it has its own speaker output.
especially on the broadcast band (550 - 1600 Kcs).
It also covers the short wave band (6 - 18 mhz) needs alignment
It has a metal case, held together by clips,
and has some Silica Jell in a little tray inside.
