Description
BC-348-R RECEIVER SIGNAL CORPS U.S. ARMY USED BY US AIR FORCE $350 ono
Manufactured by Belmont Radio Corp, Chicago (CDL on paper sticker)
The BC-348-R is a superheterodyne receiver with two RF stages, three IF stages and a crystal filter.
A reluctant sale as I have refurbed its British counterpart (Marconi R1115) …. just too many other refurb projects waiting.
Whilst the paint is flaking off the front panel and the usual scratches are evident to the casing, there are no dents, additional holes etc.. This radio appears to be original except for the standard modifications to these radios made by post War hobbyists including ….
Front panel Aerial connection, Knob at lower left side is connected to AVC-OFF-MVC switch.
A 240 volt power supply, Output transformer, 6MB8 in place of a VT-152, 1 x capacitor
Switches, dials etc work, valves appear original, the wiring is in good condition, no cracking of insulation like some other radios of this era. I have not tested this radio.
The front panel ID plate is missing, but the Identification sticker is in place on inside rear of casing.
Lots of documentation eg circuit diagrams, web sites etc can be provided.
Can be inspected in Glen Waverley 3150. Unit weighs approx 15.1kgs
