SOLD: Yaesu FL-2000B HF Linear Amplifier

For sale is a Yaesu FL-2000B, the first Yaesu amplifier to run dual 572B valves rather than sweep tubes. This is the heavy duty design that built the reputation of the later FL-2100 series.
 

In my opinion the FL-2000B is actually the better amplifier when compared to the FL-2100B. The key reason is the separate filament transformer. Yaesu later moved to a shared plate transformer with an added filament winding which was clearly a cost saving measure. The FL-2000B avoids this compromise and benefits from a more robust power supply layout.
 

The amplifier is in excellent physical condition for its age and is operating correctly. It tunes smoothly, loads properly and produces strong output with healthy 572Bs. Fans, relays and switches all behave as expected.
 

It is simply a solid, no nonsense classic HF linear that was built to last.
 

Price is $699. I have Cetron 572B's in another listing, but will consider adding as a discount for the purchaser of this amplifier if I have any left.

It is too heavy for Australia Post. I will pack it extremely securely, however, the buyer must arrange their own courier or collection.
