As many of you know, we are restoring literally hundreds of radios here and its been a labour of love, but a fun experience as well.
We are getting low on parts, often robbing and scrounging from a chassis to get another going, but we need your help.
Could you please check your sheds, you old cupboards, any old non working radios whether cb or ham radio, we need everything from knobs to semiconductors to valves.
On our urgent list to finish a number radios off, we are chasing 40 ch switches for cybernet and uniden, especially the 40 ch analog disc knob as we have one radio that we have just fitted a 40 ch cybernet switch to and no 40 ch disc to know which channel its on.
If you have any spare parts and are of no use to you anymore, please contact us as a number of radios will hit the scrap heap if we cannot get bits which will be very unfortunate. The only good bit when a radio does hit the scrap heap, its probably because we have had to make an executive decision to make 1 radio out of two, so there is a few more parts generated.
Semiconductors, we are finally out of finals 2sc1969/2sc1307 and drivers 2sc1306/2sc2166. If you have a stockpile of these, please call us as we have a number of radios we want to add to the exhibit that are in need of outputs or drivers, a very common issue for many of these radios.
VCO blocks, really any parts, valves, etc, we are desperate to keep the momentum going, and there is a huge amount of work to be done, but we approach it one at a time and with the help of the North East Victoria Amatuer Radio Club. A special thanks to Terry VK3FTHS for his enormous donation, many a radio has found life due to your help. Also, Nicholas Despinidic, so many part of history that has helped us so much. so many more that have helped, VK2KT Bill, you got out of trouble enormously, many thanks.
So if its ham radio or cb radio, we need bits urgently. &a
